12.2 screen package installation warning

Hello,

Reinstalling 12.2 (using the minimal X config) I noticed the following:

screen wird heruntergeladen (Downloadgröße 484.1 KB)
screen-4.0.4-2.2.10.ppc64.rpm wird installiert (Größe nach Installation
894.4 KB)
Zusätzliche rpm-Ausgabe:
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.x5xJ1j: line 11: mkdir: command not found
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.x5xJ1j: line 12: mkdir: command not found
warning: %post(screen-4.0.4-2.2.10.ppc64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127

Is this lack of mkdir expected or something to investigate?

Regards,
Andreas

How did you manage to not install coreutils?

zypper se coreutils confirms they got installed at some point.
It seems to be an ordering problem during installation, same with lilo.

Similarly, /sbin/lilo is attempted to execute before lilo is downloaded
and installs, failing.

Another issue is that the default 12.2 update repos are being installed,
leading to conflicts. And the ppc repos still use the
powerpc.opensuse.org URL rather than download.opensuse.org/ports/ppc/.

This might be a missing dependency somewhere.

screen does have "Prereq: coreutils" strange enough.

The update repos yes, I had not removed them from the product config yet.

Where do you see powerpc.opensuse.org? I thought I caught all places.

So... can we get a maintenance project set up to fix these 12.2 issues?

How do you want to fix this if you only install GA packages ;)

But the question is actually relevant, how to start maintenance
for 12.2 Power.

Sure.

I will be setting up a test-shadow project of openSUSE:12.2:Update
to see if everything builds, and try to get Adrian away from his Arm fulltime thinking ;)

FireFox and its friends have to be fixed (reduce build memory
requirements by removing -g)

I tried to fix it in a pretty way, but didn't managed to do that. We
have to modify configure.in (IIRC) to make it happen.

This won't be fixed in 12.2 anyway.

We can put it to known bugs list.

Yeah.. IIRC kernel install process runs mkinitrd, which triggers
update-bootloader.

But final installation succeeds.
