Hi

I am installing opensuse ppc 11 on a IBM Pseries P630.

When I boot I get the following text:

Welcome to yaboot version 10.1.22-r1034.SuSE
booted from '/***@400000000110/***@3,1/***@0:1,\suseboot\yaboot.ibm'
Enter "help" to get some basic usage information
boot: install textmode=1
Please wait, loading kernel...
Allocated 01100000 bytes for executable @ 03a00000
Read failed: 00bfc000/00f2e44e
boot:

I hope you can help me to boot this, so I can kick off the network install.

All the best
Ulrich

There is a bug in yaboot, it does not handle short reads.

Try to either boot yaboot via tftp or from the local disk if you have
already a Linux system installed.

Copy the files yaboot.ibm, inst64 and yaboot.cnf from DVD1/suseboot/
to the tftp directory, and rename yaboot.cnf to yaboot.conf. Then boot
yaboot.ibm via tftp.

Or copy yaboot.ibm to your 0x41 PReP boot partition, and inst64 to your
harddisk. Then add a new entry to lilo.conf or yaboot.conf and boot from
local disk.
